While driving, when it is raining, it is very hard for me to see even during the day. Please help!?
Is it the case with everyone? And in the night time, it is double harder to see. I have to put my blinkers on, and drive at 20 at a huge risk. Is it the problem with my windshield? or vipers? All this watery mist from the rear wheels of the cars in the front, makes it hard for me to see the lanes.
I got my eyes checked, and distant vision is 20/20. I only need reading glasses with +100
Please help me with sound advice
I think I have the answer, and with all respect to others who have answered, I think they may not stating anything other than the obvious about clear-glass, good wipers etc.
Many people drive with a wrong mental focus, and concentrate on the road just in front of them. When people do this, the focus of the eye changes, and they see nothing distant.
When people look at distant objects, they have a much longer and wider field of vision, and would be much less intimidated by rain and spray on something as close as the windscreen or spray from another vehicle.
There's an old saying which some old truck drivers still quote.
"If you want to stay safe, drive with your eyes looking at the next county." (State)
With regard to spray from heavy vehicles, don't be too afraid of it. Hang back to get a good idea of what lies ahead, then go for it and pass. The blind-spot is very brief, and you soon drive through it into clearer vision.
