Video Camera Interface

How do you record with multiple video cameras?
I always watch movies and it drives me nuts wondering how they film the exact same shot synced through a whole bunch of different cameras. I was wondering if someone with a good clue would be willing to explain the type of equipment you would need and attachments and what not to have more than one camera operating and filming the same shot but through different angles. I'm aware that you could just film it through different angles and then sync them together on your computer but that doesn't assure perfect accuracy. I'm sure there's some sort of interface that all the cameras have to be plugged into that will then plug into the computer for further editing. Maybe you need a certain program for that, I wouldn't be shocked if so. Basically, I just want to know how I could film myself but in a semi professional way with several angles that I can go back and forth from so that it looks cooler. Please answer
Thanks,
Ben
Maybe they use three different cameras shooting simultaneously.
This is a technique used for years on television sound sets like those used in the "soaps" or live programs like David Letterman and Jay Leno.
If a video camera is being used to shoot a "film", then no. One camera is used to take all the shots. Each scene it shot with the utmost control and the director is totally focused on the DP as the scenes are shot.
Multi-camera shoots are shot more by the seat of the pants when live. If shot for later editing, there is three times the amount of raw footage necessary for the editor to reduce to a rough cut.
You really need to visit a sound stage and watch how videos and films are shot. It seems that you envision multiple cameras, recording the same thing but from different angles at the same time all being fed into a computer. After one visit to a TV production studio and a motion picture sound stage, you will see how it is really done
