Im willing to bet that the ACC wire that tells the stereo to turn on when then ignition switch is turned on is improperly connected or is not connected at all. This would result in just the time showing on the face and the eject button would still work. Essentially the deck is operating like the ignition switch is always off, right? Im willing to bet that the wire harness you got for that saturn might be for a different model of jvc, or a different model of saturn. If you have the deck out of the car you can test it easily....run both the RED and YELLOW power wires to 12v positive and the black wire to 12v ground. The deck should then turn on and operate normally(you probably will need to push the power button though)
