Why does it say 'USB empty' when I plug my iPod into the car?
I just plugged my iPod into the car's USB port using the cable the iPod came with. It lets me choose the music on my iPod, but it doesn't play through the car speakers. On the car radio screen it comes up as 'USB empty'. What's wrong and how can I get it to play my music?
three possible problems:
1. (most likely) your head unit has a bad USB port. i suggest either replacing your head unit (you can get a basic cheap one for around $60) or if its a stock radio take it back to the dealer (and enjoy the price to fix it)
2. bad USB cord...not likely the case if you can use this cord on the computer
3. bad ipod apple jack...again not likely the case if you can still upload music onto it.
