When I turn it on, the screen stays black. Tried turning it on without the dvd drive, without the hd, tried taking out the ram and putting it back in, tried replacing the bios battery, and the screen still stays black. Tried plugging it into my monitor, tried hitting fn+f4 to try and see if that was the problem. Fn+f2 won't make the wifi light turn off, dunno if the keyboard is not connected or what. When I listen carefully I hear 2 beeps as soon as I turn it on. I'm really hoping that its not the video card, and that someone knows what the problem is. This is a Gateway TA1 touchscreen tablet laptop, any help is appreciated.
Tried the 30 second thing, didn't work either. Pushed power couple times, shut off by itself, and now it starts back up again as usual, same problem.
We got those for college a few years ago. They suck! When they go they go big time man. And its a Gateway so there's no help for em anymore. I'd probably just buy a new one and get somebody to transfer the data if you can't. The new Fujitsu Notepads are nice. Cost ya a pretty penny tho.
