What is a good SQ subwoofer?
I am getting a 300zx and i plan to put either an 18" or a 15" sub in the back along with 2 12" subs but i need to know what is a 15 or 18" sub with good sound quality since most of them are spl subs and i don't want that but i still want it to be really loud and sound good. I don't really want to spend more than $300 to $500 on the sub but i am open to all suggestions.
Well right now i have 2 12" pioneers and running about 600 watts to each and they sound really good but i want something a little louder. One of my buddies has a 15" sub and he is running 3k watts to it and it sounds decent its not as loud as my 2 12" but i like it because is gets the deeper bass so i thought if i mixed them up i could get the best of both worlds.
There are plenty of good SQ subs that are 15" or 18". However, if SQ is really your goal then mixing subs will not be a good idea. There may be some instances where you can get good results but in most cases I would highly recommend sticking with a single size and model sub.
If loudness is not really a main goal then why do you want to have the two 12s? A single 15" or 18" could get loud enough and sound good enough for a given application.
Some possible subs...

If you do some research on these and some other subs you will find what you are looking for.
Good Luck!!!
Edit: I would still recommend sticking to a single size and model of sub. If you are serious about having good SQ then that is going to be a must.
You should be able to get the desired output and SQ with a single sub easily. Some of the subs I showed you earlier all will be pretty good at both.
If you were to get a custom built enclosure that was designed more for SQ and deep bass you could have that with your 12s. You would lose a little bit of output but gain some low-end. I don't know what you have in there now but a different enclosure could be the answer.
Another couple of subs...
