I'm going next friday to have a 12" FLI Active Amp/Subwoofer box installed.
Since I'm going to be spending $440 I was wondering if it is worth it.
Will this give my stock system a good boost in overall volume lows, mids, and highs.
I don't want to the bass drums from jack johnson booming and not be able to hear anything else.

Unfortunately, unless you are uprgrading your door speakers and head unit, bass will be almost all you hear. You can turn your volume up as loud as it can go, but it will most likely blow your door speakers after prolonged use.
Also, make sure that when they tune your amp, tell them not to allow the sub to put out a lot of highs- this will ruin your sub much more fast than if you had it just pumping bass.
