Home Theater Subwoofer Help?
Recently I added a sony 12" sa-w3000 powered subwoofer to my phillips surround sound system. This was a pretty good upgrade from the supplied sub. We use the system not only for movies but for all kinds of music for parties. For movies sake the system is good enough but for the parties we would like to have a little more bass. My roommate is willing to spend $150 on an additional sub and I was wondering whether adding another sony 12" or going with this off brand "Acoustic Audio" that sells a 12" 500watt powered subwoofer for $130. The acoustic audio sounds to good for the price and was wondering if anyone knew anything about that brand of subs. Opinions please!!!
The best low end sub is a Dayton 12 inch.

Remember to properly place the sub. Placement changes everything.
Sony or phillips isn't good for speakers so consider upgrading components.
If you can afford some primus or beta towers then go that route.

I recommend the following if you can't get some towers
get 2 infinity beta 20s. They go for around 50 on ebay and you can pair them with a 250 center for around your budget range. They really shine with music.
