Here is a thread that answers a few questions about sound deadening and rattles:

If you only care about rattles and don't care about sound quality:
Locate the source of the rattles, then use foam tape or small pieces of foam weatherstripping (depending on gap size) to stop the hard areas from rattling on each other. Extra carpeting or padding may also work - it really depends on the rattling area. This will probably require interior panel removal. I've noticed on some cars, the exterior trim panels or even the license plate can rattle. You can get the foam tape/weatherstripping from a hardware store such as Home Depot/Lowes.
If you care about sound quality, you can sound deaden your car using Dynamat (pricey), or I like to recommend other sound deadening materials such as eDead. This requires removing the interior of your car. Typically applying deadener to the doors, speaker areas, and wheel wells/floor of a vehicle makes the biggest difference in terms of cabin ambient sound levels as well as sound system quality. You can purchase a material like eDead in bulk on eBay (you'll want at least 50sq. ft.).
In my car, I was more concerned about weight and road noise than sound system related vibrations, so I used a product called Frost King (1/8" thick self-adhesive closed-cell foam w/metal backing - available at Home Depot). It is popular with Corvette owners due to it's minimal weight/price as compared to mass-based deadeners like Dynamat (heavy). eDead and Cascade have products similar in price/performance/weight to the Frost King product that I mentioned.
