I am looking to install a Blaupunkt stero in my car and get rid of my factory monsoon stereo i have now. When i got to Crutchfield to customize it out it tells me that for any aftermarket radio i put in i need this PAC Conveter http://www.crutchfield.com/p_127C2RVW/PAC-Volkswagen-Radio-Replacement-Interface.html?tp=3486 that goes for 130 dollars. When i search other VW Fourms i have not seen any posts about this. Do i really need this or can i just get a simple converter for 25 dollars. Has anybody put an aftermarket stereo in to the VW? any help would be great.

you don't really need that, that's for steering wheel controls that your car might have. If you want your steering wheel controls to work with your aftermarket radio, you need that, if not the controls will just be there
