I want to make a white castle burger... Here's my recipe. What am I missing??
The frozen ones just don't do it for me. I haven't had WC in so many years I want it so bad. What do you think of my recipe, I haven't tried it yet but tell me what I might be missing...
take ground beef, flatten it between 2 wax sheets, cut into squares and poke holes with a straw to make steam vents. Then freeze it for a few hours.
Chop onions and throw it on the frying pan and grill for a few seconds.. Add (I don't know, maybe some kind of liquid) for extra steam and put frozen patties on top of the onions. Then put the a bun on top of the patty to absorb juice and another on top to warm up. When cooked add cheez if desired and assemble.
What do you think? I'm missing the liquid for extra steam and flavor.. not sure what to use. Maybe beef broth? Hot dog juice? Hmm..
And don't say White Castle is gross. Its not for everyday consumption but when you crave it you neeeed it.
I worked as a short order cook a few yrs as a teen, granddad had a restaurant too.I think they use dehydrated onions, putting them on the grill with oil, then the perforated burger, salt n pepper; buns on top;we used to clap a lid on things to steam them; They used dinner rolls for buns too.Add french fries, coke to the side ;pickles ,mustard n ketchup!!! bon appetite!!!
