Ok I'm planning for my system to have 2- 12" solo baric l7 subs with a monoblock amp at 1500 watts RMS, and I have a few questions. The car is a 2001 dodge stratus r/t if that helps.
if you are only running 1500 watts, then no you wont need to change your battery or alternator, if you dont plan on playing your subwoofers at loud volumes for extended periods of time WITH THE CAR OFF. you should be fine using 4 guage wire. and no you dont have to do the big 3 upgrade. BUT the big three upgrade will help with voltage drops. I have a 2000 Watt amp but I havent ran the Big 3 Upgrade, and i dont have any problems. i did upgrade to 1/0 gauge wire running from the battery to the amp tho.
