Programming Keys for Toyota Corolla 07?

Hello everyone, I wanted to find out some information. I purchased a transponder 4D key for my corolla 2007 and I checked it on a key reader from my friend to check if its a 4D key and it was. I went to a locksmith and they told me that the key might not work if its not the correct chip. I was told that there are 3-4 different types of 4D transponder chips. I was wondering if that was true? or were they just trying to make me buy their key? I also was wondering has never ever programmed a key to their Corolla 2007 and if so did you need a pin code? Also, is there a programming procedure to program the key? Thank you.

Toyota does use more than one type of 4d chip. The correct key # is 89795-08020 for an '07 Corolla and there's no might not to it; it won't work if it is the wrong chip.
