so i have 96 accord lx (bone stock) and there are several issues (or at least i believe) with my radio. I think that there is a problem in the wiring between the antenna (which is one of those lines on the back glass) and the head unit, and possibly another issue between the head unit and the speakers... or possibly the radio is just shot (not sure about this) so i guess my question is who has any ideas? When i seek stations, nothing will come up like it wont seek for me, and all i get soundwise is a buzzing and static. If i turn up the volume on the head unit, the static gets louder, so i know the volume control is working but i dont know what to do. Currently the car is in my garage with my whole center console and center dash out, and i checked the connections behind the radio which both seem to be solid so i dont know what is i. any help appreciated
Check to be sure the wiring from the antenna to the head unit is good, then check the power supply capacitors in the head unit. If that does not provide satisfactory results, take it to a qualified technician to have them thoroughly go through it. You may think you're saving money by trying to do it yourself, but when you think about the time invested, you probably will be better off in the long run to go ahead and pay a professional technician. After all your time is worth something.
