I own a 1999 Toyota Camry , and I'm considering going to Circuit City and have their Firedog folks install it. They advertise free labor on radios $99 and up. I just want to get a conventional radio with a CD player and an auxiliary input. How likely is it that I will have to purchase additional accessories like installation kits to have it installed properly? And have you ever had Firedog install a radio for you? How long did it take? I just want to get an idea on how much I'll likely end up spending if I choose a $120 radio.
you will pay more.... because it does not include antenna adaptors, or wiring harnesses or face plates that are required, the only way you could get it installed for $99 is if you already had a after market installed and were simply swaping it out for a new one..
and dude, if i may be so honest... go to a cr audio shop for the install, it may cost ever so slightly more, but the guys at CC or BB are simply under trained over confident hacks... there may be a good one here and there, but i am willing to say 9 out of 10. should not be installing..Luckily a deck is realatively easy. which leads me to this....look at crutchfield.com seriously... if you spend 129.00 or more they include ALL hardware required (gonna cost you about 30 bucks at CC) and they give great instructions and tech support... you'd be surprised how easy puting a deck in really is with the right parts. and chances are you will not pay shipping or tax... and thier prices are better than the retail stores on many items, just look for the sales...
i recomend Alpine, sony, or pioneer for a deck, and all have decks right at the 129 price for free install hardware.
