There's no such thing as a Trans Am Formula, it's either a Trans Am or a Formula.
Check the VIN. The 8th digit is the engine code. F= 5.0L or 8 = 5.7L Provided the car has the original engine that will tell you what should be in the car. If the car still has the RPO code list you can look up the codes. The list will be in the center console, it's a sticker inside. L98 and B2L are the two codes for the 350, LB9 will be the code for the 305.
