I'm looking to buy a really good pair of headphones, the big ones not ear buds. I want them to be really good quality but I don't know where to look or what price range I should expect. Any tips?
Sennheiser, Grado, Koss are good brands. It depends on the price range mostly. Unless you are a serious audiophile, it is not worth spending over $70 .
Try: Sennheiser PX100 (might not be what you want), Grado SR60, Sennheiser HD 201, Sennheiser HD485 . Each of them are great.
There are two types of "big" headphones - open and closed. From headphone.com:

Sealed full-size headphones isolate you from the distracting noise of the outside world while preventing headphone leakage from the earcups, a useful feature if folks are right next to you.
