From my 15 years or so experience, I love the Compustar product. They have a new Pro series I have not yet messed with, but I expect to be pretty awesome. I don't like the 2WSS spread spectrum series because it is kinda quirky with its transmitter response. But I have installed tons of the the 2W900FM-AS series, and I love them! Tons of programmable features and great range. The company has wonderful customer support (DEI eat a D**K). And it should not be terribly expensive.
Also, I have heard good things about AutoPage's new 900MHz product, but I have personal experience with it. I have never had a defect in the few AutoPage products I have installed, and the first one I did was back in the late 80's, so it is worth checking into. Here are some links:
