i've been installing an amplifier into my car the past few days, and today i forgot to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery. i connected a wire from the amplifier to a metal part in the trunk of the car (hence completing the circuit) and sparks went flying! (for like one second)
Nothing happened to me, but its the amp im worrying about, im scared i might have short circuited the amp. i had the fuse connected if that makes any difference, but i dunno!!!
If the spark was for just a moment you could have been charging the capacitors inside the amp. Most people see this flash spark when they connect the fuse. The larger the amp. the more and larger the caps. are inside, making a larger spark. If you had all 3 power connections correct then what happened is not unusual.
