I have an emachines T4080 that I want to sell, but I need to know what a fair price to sell it would be.
I'm also selling the emachines monitor with it, along with a keyboard, mouse, and a pair of ALTEC speakers.
I need to know what a reasonable price for the computer would be, as well as a reasonable price for the whole bundle.
With new machines going for as little as $300-$400, I wouldn't expect any more than $100; in fact that would be a pretty good price. I probably wouldn't pay more than $50 myself.
Before you sell it you should wipe the hard drive and reinstall the OS using the recovery disks. If you don't have recovery disks, there is probably an option on the Start menu to create them. Don't just reformat the hard drive - your information is still there to be retrieved if anybody wants to. A free tool to do this is DBAN; download the disk image, burn it to CD, boot off of the CD, and follow the on-screen instructions.
