I have 2 - 240VAC regulated power supplies providing 12VDC and 19VDC power respectively,switched by a 240VAC relay to a 600w modifed sine wave inverter,should the 240VAC fail.The combined load on the power supplies is 150W,I am trying to find a formula that will convert these DC loads to AC so I can calculate the correct rated relay for the switching.I also wish to establish whether the 600w modified sine wave inverter is enough to provide battery back-up power if the 240VAC goes down. 600w inverter will provide 600 watts. Whether or not that is enough depends on the load you will be driving. If that is just the power supplies, that deliver 150 watts DC, then you need the efficiency of the supplies. They probably have a AC power or current spec on them. But if I guess at 50% efficiency, then you need 300 watts to operate them, so the 600 watts should be enough.
You should size the relay for the full 600 watts, which is 2.5 amps at 240 volts. I'd use a 5 amp relay.
