Can i install a aftermarket sub into my 2004 Mitsubishi Galant gts?
I was wondering if i could install two 12" alpines into my Galant even though i have a stock infinity radio and speakers. Would i have to get a new head unit step up or could i just install the sub into the back of the stock radio?
i would highly not recommend running 2 12" alpines off of an aftermarket radio let alone stock. you will need a separate amp to power the subs because if you try to run them off the headunit they will be severely underpowered and you will probably blow the amplifier in the headunit. After you do get an amp there are 2 things you can do - stick with stock radio and buy a line output converter with taps off speaker wire and converts it to RCA preouts or buy an aftermarket headunit with RCA preouts to plug the amp right into. i high recommend the second suggestion.
