I have a car with a sub woofer in it and i really like the bass but in some songs with higher bass frequencies where its too high for the subwoofer to pick up. Usually, speakers would pick up those mid-range frequencies, but my car uses 5 1/4" speakers that will just barely pick up those sounds. Is there any way to get more bass out of a 5 1/4" speaker or get the sub to produce thoes higher frequences?
The best kinds of speakers that produce the best midranges are component speakers. They are quite pricey compared to multi-way coaxial speakers, but they are well worth the extra money.
You can try to tweak the sound going to your coaxials by adjusting the HPF and LPF knobs that might be found on your amplifier, or maybe install an equalizer to adjust the mids. But you won’t have as good results as with a component system.
