I know this question has been asked but i have a little more that i coldn't find the answer to I have an orion 4004 controling 2 4" JL as mids in my headrests that work fine alone, and an Audiobahn A8000T mono controlling 1 15" sub that makes very slight hum when ipod i connected but w/e that dont bother me. what does is when i have both amps on. the 4" JLs whine the amps are connected with two seperate rca cables from the head unit. i have a ground loop isolator on the orion (mids) so i dont understand what is going on please help me thank you
Check all your power wires, and how close they are to your RCA's and speaker wires. Power should always be kept as far as possible from signal wires, thats what causes a buzzing that changes with the engine RPM's. If your currently using separate power wires for each amp that both run the length of your car to the battery, try changing to a single larger gauge wire, split by a distribution block in the back to each amp. A single wire is easier to predict problems and diagnose than multiples.
As for the slight hum on the ipod connection? You didnt say much about what kind of connection your using with it, so its hard to say. You checked all those connections too? If it has power, check where its grounded, should be some solid grounding point nearby, some piece of framework, sanded down to bare metal.
