i know best buy sell keyless entry systems but i wanna know if i could have one instaleed on my 99 honda civic dx..
my honda doesnt have power locks..is this an issue?
Most any car - even yours can have a keyless entry system installed if it has power locks. If it doesn't have power locks a power actuator can be used. (It'll cost a little more money for the actuators.)
Remember to always have your keyless system installed by a professional. There's a lot of work to installing it. And, all of the necessary parts (wires, connectors etc.) do not always come in the box.
There are two main types of remote systems. They operate on the AM and FM frequency. The FM is better (and more expensive) because it does not require a receiver to be mounted to your windshield.
Look in your local yellow pages for car electronic shops and you should be able to find one that can perform a professional install.
