I just installed a pair of driving lights from harbor freight...would a 20 amp inline fuse work with them?( i will install my own holder...) its just basic halogen driving lights.... so would a small 20 amp blade type fuse work? or is it too small or too big? thanks
That should be sufficient to operate those lights. Look at the paperwork that comes with the lights you bought and see how many watts they put out.
Use the following formula to determine for sure if the fuse is large enough.
Take the output wattage of the lights, divide by 12 (your car/truck is a 12 volt system) and this will give you your amperage.
Do not go too far over this figure, as it can cause problems. If there is an over heated wire, and the fuse does not blow, then there will be a fire, the last thing you want to happen.
