Whats the thing connected to the heatsink on a amplifier or a hifi stereo? ?
I seen those things and the color is black and very small. Why does It turns hot? Whats is that thing called thanks!!
The power output transistors would be silver and on the inside wall of the heatsink. The thing you are referring to as being black is most likely a thermal cut-off switch. If it gets too hot (indicating a problem with the output transistors) it will tell the amp to shut down or go into protection mode so no further damage will be done until the unit gets checked out and repaired.
