I bought a 9007 xenon kit for my 98 ford explorer....but when i took it my mechanic for installation he said since my head lights r old and the housing is plastic and not metal these lights would get really hot and if i keep the car running for more than a couple of hours it would melt my headlights...
so I emailed the seller on ebay and he assured me that these lights wouldnt get that hot ((he said they r only 35w)) and that he has sold many of them and no one has said such a thing...
so before taking the kit to another mechanic i wanna know if you could help me out a little....
i never heard of xenons producing that much heat unless you have faulty wiring without a converter box. Just install a relay harness from the HID's to converter box and stock plugs and you should be good to go
