can somone please explain it to me in plain English, i have a 1 farad power cap, the power cable goes from my battery to a inline fuse, then to my fused distribution block, then in to one of the the + terminals, then the other + terminal has a wire leading to my amp to power my sub. One of my - terminals has the ground wire in it that is connected to my bodywork. is this correct, if not what am i doing wrong?
to wire your capacitor there are a few things to do.
1. you don't need a distribution block for one or two amps unless the amp won't except the large gauge wire.
2. run the power wire from the under the hood to the + input of the cap(don't connect the fuse)
3. run the power wire from the + out to the amp or distribution block.
4. run the ground wire from the body(rear seatbelt bolt is best) to the cap - in.
5. run the ground from the - out on the cap to the amp or distribution block.
6. charge the cap using a test light thru the fuse connection(if you plug the power wire straight into the cap without charging the cap first you will damage the cap)
7. connect the fuse and your set.
