i have a cap i need to install and its all hooked up and i just feel like its wrong... i had 12 gauge wiring and i upgraded to 4 guage and bought a cap but my bass sounds weaker?! i have 2 positive wires coming off the cap one from the battery and one going to the amp i used a spade terminal and a ring terminal to attatch them to the positive cap post and i grounded the amp and cap together. idk if i did it correctly or not but i was wondering why my bass is weaker? whats the best way to hook up a cap? and pictures would be awesome if possible.

You did everything correct, except what do you mean by grounding them together? I would recommend grounding them at least 3" apart from each other in my experience. I would not recommend grounding both wires on top of each other to the chassis.
Revised: I would also recommend making the ground wires as short as possible for better connectivity. I had to make my grounding wire for my 18" Solo X as short as I could get it for a better bass response.
