Are all festoon lights always on?
Are all festoon lights always on, but very dim? I just bought a new 5-led super bright white for my car dome and even when the car is off it's on but dim. I'm thinking that the old one, being much less powerful, was still always on but too dim to see?
festoon lights work the same as any light with a bulb. It takes a power source to make them work. If the power source is off then the light is off. The difference with the LED light is the diodes. The glow left when the light is turned off is from the reflection of the diodes. The diodes still have energy left in them and are therefore slow to fade.
