I bought a Kenwood GPS/CD/DVD in dash system w/ a fixed face. I wanted to have it installed by Best Buy but they are telling me if they install it that my DVD player wont work while the vehicle is moving (though another company could bypass that <-- rep told me) and that my middle console headphone jacks will no longer work.
I guess my question is... if I have a company that specializes in sound systems install the thing, will they be able to make it connect to my middle console headphone jacks or, is it true aftermarket parts wont work w/ factory parts?
Also, if that is the case, if I bought a FACTORY GPS/CD player (they are available, mine just didnt come with one) would it work w/ the headphone jacks or am I SOL regardless?
I don't what year your Rendezvous is but Metra makes an interface part # GMOS-14. The GMOS-014 is designed to retain Onstar/ Rear seat entertainment (RSE)/ and retain the warning chimes that are
normally lost when the OEM radio is removed. It also provides a 12 volt accessory output for aftermarket radio operation.
The GMOS-014 provides a mute/ parking brake/ vss or speed sense and reverse output to make installing an aftermarket navigation radio simpler and less time consuming.
