PC to blame for monitor death?
Ok, I had a 19" CRT Dell monitor which died after about 18months, it was getting all sorts of flickering and the screen kept getting smaller. Very much like static interference of some sort, but its not near any other electrical devices. I chucked the Dell and attached a 17" CRT, which has started doing the same kinda thing; the odd flicker and wobbly line.
Is it possible that the PC (not a Dell) is to blame for this? It seems as though its sending some kind of static down the VGA cable. I don't know if this would be resolved with buying a new graphics card or PSU, or even trying to tie down the PC and Monitor to an Earthing point?
Appreciate any help,
Cheers
If CRTs are not working perhaps LCD is a way to go.
The monitor failures I've encountered were due to faulty hardware of the monitor. PC isn't to blame as what good is a monitor without a PC.
