They are encased in flawless wood cabinets and are free standing...meaning they're large and stand on the ground.
Their dimensions: about 1 1/4 feet wide and deep by about 3 feet tall.
Its important to me to prevent structural damage to the internal components (ie the speakers) as well as cosmetic.

Depends upon how you're shipping them. If you're concerned enough, you could order special ATAC cases which are suitable protection for air cargo transportation. Those are rugged polystyrene-type cases that even low power bullets can't penetrate, and are suitably cushioned to prevent damage due to shock or dropping. (The case will probably cost more than the speaker you're trying to protect.)
The more cost-effective way, whether you're transporting it yourself, or using a shipping company, is to get a cardboard box about 2' x 2' x 4', and wrap sufficient quantity of bubble-wrap on all 6 sides of your speaker so that there is no movement inside the box. (Bubble-wrap is that plastic sheeting which is made up of sealed air-filled bubbles.) Not only will it protect the speaker from shock or vibration, but it also provides a buffer for any penetration into the box.
If additional protection of the cabinet finish is required, buy a roll of non-abrasive tissue to wrap between the cabinet and the bubble-wrap.
If shipping by carrier, simply pay the little extra for insurance to cover the replacement value if the speaker is damaged or destroyed. Out of years of shipping commercial cargo, I've only had to make a claim twice, and there was no hassle either time.
