pitched ring which forces me to set it to a tone i dont desire. If it makes an difference im playing through a marshall mg100fx halfstack on the clean channel( any other channel and the pedal sounds horrible). I've been playing for a year and new to using pedals so go easy.
This sounds like if could be 1 of 2 problems.
1. If its the pedal, it sounds like you have the volume (level) on the pedal up too high and your getting a type of feed back which you will get when you are driving the amp with the pedal. Its like the squelch you get when you put the speakers behind a mircophone. You need to find a balance, your pedal should not be louder on then off. Same volume at all times.
2. I've had this problem. It could be the pick ups in your guitar. When you start to get better equipment you have less room for other bad pieces in your rig. I bought a JCM 900 stack first thinking my guitar would be fine, but the cheap pick ups caused feedback squells even while playing.
