I'm new to this so i need a basic break down. I have a 2007 g5 coupe and i want to hook up a system with a sub and an amp.I noticed in my trunk i have two 6x9 speakers as stock but dont know the rating, so if i was to hook up a system how would i wire these to it or can i? Also anyone know fo a good system that may be easyer to install for a first timer. thanks for any answers.
you can leave the stock system just as it is.

I would get the $13 ones at least. The Stinger at $16 should be good quality.
The LOC will splice into your rear speaker wires to give you rca connections for an amp. Your stock speakers will operate as normal.
Then you'd have to run a power wire from the amp to the battery (fused near the battery). 8 or 4 gauge depending on the current requirement of the amp. You will also need a ground wire connected to the chassis of your car somewhere near the amp. From there you just need a remote turn on connection for the amp -- the "radio" fuse at your car's fuse box is a pretty easy and reliable spot.
Other than that you just need the sub, a decent box, and a few feet of 12 gauge speaker.
