I know about RMS, and good brands.. I want to know what is the recommended RMS for me? I don't need to be heard from a mile away. I just want something thats a little above average. I listen to a lot of hip hop music. (Jay-Z!) Does the receiver need to be a certain amount of watts to be compatible with the amp/speakers/subs? And mainly, how many subs should I get that will sound good? (but like I said, not crazy ridiculously loud!) Please understand I want it to kick, just not to the point where its too much and sounds trashy. So please, give me your opinion of what kind of stereo, amp, speakers & subs to get. Including quantity of each (2amps, or 2subs or w/e) I've done a lot of research I would really appreciate your help 
Probably 700 watts rms at the most. For what you want 1 sub would be good in a proper enclosure. I would still get 2 amps. One to run the sub and the other for your mids and highs. They do make 5 channel amps you can run everything on. There are plenty of great brands out there just check the reviews on them maybe even vids on youtube to see them in action.
