I got an amp kit, when I bought my used car and I would like to know the AWG, what would be the best method of calculating it? The diameter is about 7mm.
I know 0 gauge is the best, it's just the wiring kit came preinstalled with my car, and to save some money i wanted to know what gauge it was, so if it is a high amount i'll keep it, if not buy a neew one
If the wiring kit was any good, it would have the size printed on the cable. Get yourself a 0 gauge wiring kit. I've put 2 runs in from the front bat to the batts in the back as my amp take 2 0 gauge power cables and two 0 gauge earthing cables. If the wiring is already there, just replace your power wire with a run of 0 gauge from the front to the back and distribute it from there to the amp, keeping all the cables as short as possible.
