What should i set my kicker zx1000.1 amp to?
i have my brothers kicker comp cvr 12 as a replacement until i get a new l7. i would also like to know what i should set the gain and bass boost at for this sub on the amp because it is a powerful amp and the cvr 12 will blow easily. im trying to get it right where its loud enough so you notice it but im scared i might blow this one also. Im new to the car audio thing and would like some advice thank you.
the amp is 1000 watts and 1000 rms the sub is 800watts and 400rms. Need help with the gain and bassboost i dont know where to set them because its gonna blow this sub like the L7
I would turn your car to about nearly maxed out to the point where it sounds good and nearly to its max potential. Then with your gain starting at min, move your way up until it sounds good without bogging and matches the highs... Then it should be good.. If youre not sure, go a little lower.. What would be best though woiuld be to check the specs on your speaker and amp and see the RMS of the speaker. Then find the RMS of the amp.... If the RMS of the amp is higher than the speaker, you DEFINETLY dont want to max the gain... If its about same, then id run it about half way
