I just got on sleeping medicine and anti anxiety pills to treat PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). I slept great, but I woke up 3 hours early of my alarm. So I went to sleep about an hour after I was up. While I was asleep, I had a dream but I couldn't wake up. I taught myself to wake up from a dream when I was really little because they are to realistic, and I do it all the time. I couldn't scream in my dream, use my cell phone, get hurt, or anything. I was telling myself to wake up but couldn't. There were hands that were coming from corners and things (I was in my house laying on the couch and they came from the side and started counting down) and dark shadows. I woke up very frightened. Anyone else do this? Or have suggestions?
I dont sleep alot, and theres no other cause.
This could be reflecting a deeper, physcological problem. Maybe you should go visit a Therapist or something, to make sure that you are in a more stable mind in future- it could be something to do with your PTSD. Most dreams happen when you are in a lighter state of sleep- so this suggests that you did not re-enter the deep sleep you where in prior to you waking up. Don't worry too much- it has only happened once, yeah it creeped you out, but you only need to worry if it is seriously affecting your sleep- but it sounds like you slept quite a lot anyway.
